If I'm not feeling a person, I will get to the point where my texts are only in reply to a specific question, and I will become very distant.
I don't want to come out and explicitly hurt someone, so I'll try to distance myself and hope they do too. If I'm explicitly asked, however, I will be completely honest. Generally, I am a very honest person and pride myself on that fact (not sure if other Virgos are like that), but if it comes to a situation like that, I hate to hurt people's feelings, and would like to avoid the awkwardness. I don't enjoy feelings too much, as I've heard is common among Virgos, and too much emotion can overwhelm me, so I tend to avoid situations that put me in the line of emotions (unless it's anger, I can be okay with that).
I'm sorry...how is that honesty? Sounds very cowardly to me. If you don't want to fuck with someone just tell them. You're still hurting the person either way and it sounds like YOU just don't want to deal with the guilt.
