What can I say that hasn't already been said? You breathed new life into me the day you first walked into my home and you gave me a reason to live at a time when I didn't care whether I lived or died. I owe you my life, Jed, and I will always love you more than life itself till the end of it.

I will tell you all this in person in about 12 hours, but until then: a toast to the love of my life

There are lots of Different interpretations of this. But there is no correct interpretation.

The general catholic interpretation is Hell is eternal.

It is the teaching of the Church affirms the existence of hell and its eternity. Immediately after death the souls of those who die in a state of mortal sin descend into hell, where they suffer the punishments of hell, "eternal fire." [Cf. DS 76; 409; 411; 801; 858; 1002; 1351; 1575; Paul VI, CPG § 12.] [cf. Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1035]

But no interpretation of the Bible is correct IMO.

The Catholic Church doesn't dictate the "correct"interpretation. A simple reading of the verse in Revelation is clear amd doesn't require a complicated explanation.

It isnt my interpretation, it's one that more and more are beginning to understand. This is from the KJV. The word for hell is Sheol, which is actually the grave, not a place of eternal suffering. The result of death is eternal, not the punishment. The Old Testament says nothing about an eternal hell.

13And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.


Doesn't matter if you're a Christian or not, the words are pretty clear throughout the Bible. The church has a vested interest in keeping people in line through fear so have every reason to interpret to their benefit.
