Fast forward two days = Today
Five days from the ride home = tomorrow



The other night is last week(The other night) ... first email over the weekend (Fast forward two days).... today is the FIVE days later that I put everything into place about what's happened.
Are you unclear?


"The other night" in modern English refers to two or possibly three nights ago.
Not last week.
If you meant "last week" then you should have said "last week".

I'm late to this part of the discussion, but here in the south, or Texs, at least "the other night" could have been anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks ago. Just sayin'.

This made me laugh though.
Gem, I was a drunk asshole a few months ago. I'm taking some time to figure out why I let myself get that drunk. I obviously wasn't in the right frame of mind to be drinking. You got your wallet back thankfully. No harm, no foul? Take it as a learning experience and some time away from those particular bars. By the time you go back, this issue will be history (hopefully). A person's true character will always show itself eventually. Let him bury himself in your social group, don't try to do it for him. You'll just sleep better at night not getting anymore entagled in this than you already are.

Thank you, I plan to take no action other than if I run into my friends (the bar owners) out and about on the town.... then depending on my mood, I may relay the occurrences to them off to the side, in private.
This whole story was literally unfolding RIGHT as I was posting the story. I was kind of bouncing ideas around and looking for other peoples feedback.
Dear god, I should have known better than to come to dxp to discuss anything without being fully composed, double checking all of the terms I used to ensure 100% accuracy and sure as shit, make sure you look up EVERY word in the dictionary before using it.

Just to clarify (because it probably got lost in the shit-storm of haterade) the other thing which has been mentioned is that I was there with friends in the beginning, they left not that long before I did, I live TEN blocks from said bar and I know pretty much EVERYONE that hangs out there. As do the people I was there with. We all live and hang out in a small area of Houston.
This is one of the friendly neighbor bars. Now listen, we have the bar hopping, clubbing drag where all of the popped collar wearing, Ed Hardy sporting, fist pumping, doucheriffic shit goes down to electronic music and strobe lights. Had I gone there.... I would never have been alone.
Sadly, this was one of my favorite spots. A comfortable spot. A place I trusted with people I trusted. I have probably been in there a couple hundred times over the years. Everyone knows my name, they know what I drink, they don't ask for a credit card to start my tab, they give me the "prized patron" discount.
In the end, I had a false sense of security... lesson learned.
