One of our freedoms is freedom of Religion. There is no possible way to keep religion out of politics. Why? Because you can't keep anyone from basing their decision, thoughts or opinions from the fact of their opinion and/or belief of religion. They can say they do/are. Keeping religion out of forming an opinion or a vote. But who polices their mind, thinking, conscious. No one can.

I've voted for people you wouldnt nor couldnt pay me to vote for. But they held the same idea and/or belief I did in a certain area. Because of that, they received my vote. Would I vote for a KKK member? Fuck no. But who is that to stop someone else to say they would. That is where we have freedoms. Whether we like them or not.

Law is not to be based on religion. And it isn't. But there are ways to get around things. Religion has been taken out of public schooling, however look at how many schools observe Wed. as a non sport/homework/school activity day. We arent allowed to say the Pledge of Allegiance any longer within our schools, or to observe anything that fractions the rights of our U.S. citizens.

I forget which country believes a cow is sacred. In HI, a tiger shark is considered sacred. Would you vote or not vote for people of those practices, if you didnt see neither a cow or shark as sacred? Either way, YOU are bringing religion into politics if you decline to vote for them because of those beliefs.

Nothing is black or white. But we need to quit arguing with one another, even if it is our freedom. Our world, and our country is becoming a decline even though we soar into new technology, etc. each day. We are our own destructors, and will be the demise at the sword of our own hand.

What you are failing to realize, is that it is the VOTES that elect. Not the people who are running for election. We the people give them that position. So if I want to vote for someone because they share my religious belief. That is where religion will NEVER leave politics. You forget what this land was built on. And there is too much old blood still living. Whether people agree or not. They can keep it out all they want. It is the voters who will or wont make their election.

ok i'm officially DONE!

i gotta listen to the rest of this shit after i've had a few drinks.

so Jesus had 3 wives and the Native Americans are the "Israelites?" Then wtf does that make all them Jews living in Israel?

Lord help me! this shit is truly WACKED! i understand that children born into any religion will typically follow that religion, but with this one in particular, once they come of age, how can they continue believing in this horseshit—

how how how?

i think it depends on the church. "white" churches in the US are boring as shit.

on a side note, i went to a black pentacostal church once and that shit was creepy as fuck. i have never seen such a spectacle and the strange thing was, people started catching "the holy ghost" while the secretary was reading the announcements. the preacher didn't even give a sermon and folks were losing it. the lady sitting in front of me stood up the entire time and was crying and yelling so long and loudly that literally had snot rolling down her neck. i was doing my best not to be judgmental, but my libra friend couldn't hold it in and literally kept saying, IN CHURCH MIND YOU, "this shit is fucking crazy."

Btw, jaw pain = possible sprain. Your jaw may have started cramping up and in turn, you sprained a ligament because you kept going. Strain could also be the cause of pain as well.

Fracturing or dislocating would be more noticeable than just sharp pain. You wouldn't be able to talk all that well, really. There would also have been popping or snapping sounds plus discoloration.

Jaw clicking = TMJ. Not a "permanent" dislocation. I have the same thing. My jaw pops all the time and it's related to the various muscle issues I have in my neck/upper back.

Just something to consider before you overdiagnose yourself. 😉

Dense? Moi? lol Look Calig, I really don't give a fuck. I just think people can be quite ignorant when discussing religion. And having Maher as a reference on it is like having a Priest give advice about how to make your wife double orgasm. Its ALL theory. My personal opinion is that MOST people are quietly spiritual/quasi-religious--but what do I know. Very few are in your face at least in my rl experience. Again, I really don't give a fuck. Later...hardheaded, fixed Bull motherfucker...

thanks for confirming the whole dense thing.

Maher was raised Catholic. his being an athiest now does not negate or keep him from knowing/understanding anything about Christianity.

admit it, you have a bias against him and therefore, your judgement and arguments are clouded. so believe it or not, those who dont believe Jesus walked on water are still capable of knowing who Jesus is and what the Bible proclaims. a person may be a heathen even after being raised in the house of God.

you don't know a huge amount about him yet you'll discount the validity of his argument on the grounds of snarkiness, yet you'll cite Christopher Hitchens (which is funny since Hitchens never lost a debate on religion and was pretty adamant and vindictive about it). CS is a philosopher? by what measure? getting your info from someone that writes children's books rather than our brightest minds (physicists, intellectuals, scientists etc) who are overwhelmingly atheist (a percentage in the high 90's) is precisely the anti-intellectualism that Maher is referencing

^was going to point that out too but talking to a wall is pointless.

should one point out that Maher is a COMEDIAN! thus, the way he presents anything is from a COMEDIC standpoint. Beck is a pundit, Rush is a pundit, Oreilly is a pundit and yet, they're not vile because hey, they "right" side of politics, religion and social issues.
