it's pro west propaganda. plain and simple. there's no sound logic behind it.
they say the same thing for nose surgeries. when an asian person gets a nose job, then they are trying to look white. actually the nose they get are dainty and small, but just narrow. not like typical caucasian noses which is not what asian girls get.
since when did white people get monopoly over thin/straight noses anyway? it's ridiculous. plenty of Asian people with straight noses.
Same thing with double eyelids, vast majority of Asians have double eyelids.
So every time a white person gets lipo-suction they are trying to look Asian? Since the majority of Asian women are skinny. should Asian people claim monopoly over svelte figures?
or how about white people that straighten their hair?
it is in the western narrative that they must be the stereotype of everything beautiful while the other races are recognized for their flaws. ridiculous.

what does it matter to you if Asians do that or black women do that? Beauty is beauty.
Unfortunately for alot of people, they are not born with features that would be an example of "beauty"
--if they have a flat nose == get surgery to get it higher.
--if they have grey hairs early in their 20s -- dye it to cover
--if they are going bald in their teens -- get a hair transplant
-- if they have flat lips - get them pumped.
-- hair weaves? all the day long at the hair salon perhaps....or get it cheap at the beauty hair store.
--- makeup products from Lancome to Maybelline are making a killing.....

Lisa with the open mind.
I just don't get it. Why is double eye-lids a white thing? Don't middle easterners have them too? Latinos? Blacks? Indians?
White media just want to monopolize everything that has to do with beauty. this is so blatantly ridiculous it can only appear on a day time talk show with that minstrel Tyra. Any critical thinker would be able to see through that BS.
Double eye-lids = white
High nose = white. let's pretend 1.3 billion Indians don't exist.
LOL

you watch the interview by Tyra? She forced that Asian girl to believe that she wants to look white because she had double eye-lid surgery, and then she said she wants to look white, couldn't have succeeded with her natural African hair etc... and I'm pointing out that was ridiculious.click to expand

That Asian girl should've looked that minstrel right in her face and said, "I know your hair ain't straight. You trying to look Asian?"
Asian people have aspergers. they get stage fright.

or she just should have said to Tyra, "Yes, you want to look white and we know that" lol.click to expand

it's all talking points for racial tension.
that is always the media troll angle....create racial tension between the different races. create sex tension in the family between the husband and the wife. create religious tension between christians, muslims and atheists.
that is all they do 24/7. none of this bs even matters. you just fill yourself with bullcrap and hatred.

If a woman is raised (upbringing) to be self confident, self love, self respect with what she was born with, no alterations, slicing/dicing would be needed.
Anyone who alters their true self should really get their heads examined to find out WHY.

Who cares. I think the real question is why this E.T. looking weirdo still has a talk show LOL!

naw i wouldn't go as far as to say it's a psychological glitch. that is way too extreme.
that very mentality leads to unbathed hippies lying on the streets in broad daylight. i just wanna be me! accept me for me! it's a lazy failure's cry of acceptance.
it's okay to be a little insecure. a girl could be a 7 with a completely flat chest. gets a boob job, her world changes. all of a sudden she's dating in a higher social circle. closing more deals. making more money. she's also having better sex because she's more self confident in her nudity.
there's 0 psychological disorder with someone like that. it was a logically sound investment.
it is what it is.click to expand

Chris Rock used to do a riff about phonies and liars. He had a girlfriend before he go married, he was out with the fellas, he told her he was at work. Of course, she called him a liar, etc, etc.
So, he went with (imagine Chris Rock's voice): "I'm a liar? Shee-itt, everything's a lie about women! Push up bras, make up, nylons, plastic surgeries of every form and fashion, hairdos and hair coloring and hair straightening and tanning and liposuction and airbrushing, they even got a rubber sock to hold the fat in so's ever'body don't see how FAT you are!", he named about 50 ways change themselves to make themselves more "attractive". "Everything about YOU is phoney. And then, bein' so phoney, they lace into other women for being other kinds of phoney than THEY are! Women are the biggest liars ever, and YOU gonna call ME a liar??? Sheee-itt!"
He's right, if unkind, I guess. Pity is, the greatest pressure for all the "lies" comes from Cosmo and that ilk, the ads and the rest. Shee-Itt! The women in those ADS don't look like the women in those ads. I never cared for the raccoon-eyes and excess makeup thing. My gal is my gal, no excess accoutrements necessary. While I don't hang out with obese women, I don't date wasted, skinny, finicky-at-the-table womenfolk, either. It ain't healthy. And the endless pressure put on our women is kinda gross. They even have our women worried they don't smell like chemical strawberries "down there". They REALLY pissed me off with that one.
Ah well, I'm only one guy. How yall doin, everyone having a good weekend?

I despise Tyra Banks--
I think she's unnecessarily cruel, and a lousy excuse for a human being.
Aside from being a hypocrite, of course.click to expand

The whole Asian angle on this in America is just silly when you take into consideration the cut throat competition for jobs and professionalism in places such as "Hong Kong" and "Shang Hai" are so over the top compared to America. These places the society literally is encouraging and nurturing young women to be as thin and shapely as inhumanly possible amongst many other beauty enhancements and/or cosmetic surgeries just so they can land a job for christ sake.... This topic in the context of America is just laughable, period.

Being Asian American I'd have to say that, and this opinion I feel is only relevant to Asian Americans, is that there is a very strong pressure from the media to assimilate into the ideal western beauty. Similar to how most women feel pressured to be thin and look a certain way I feel this is even more heightened for any ethnic woman living in America.
If you look at all the magazines, tv shows... anything associated with women and "beauty" it is always portrayed by caucasian women. AND if there are any women of color they are very caucasian "like"... very rarely do you see a woman that is extremely dark or too ethnic looking. Even the Asian women portrayed either have perfect straight European noses or large doe eyes. This is not an accurate portrayal of real Asian beauty. I think what makes us Asian women beautiful is or double-lid almond shaped eyes and our small button noses. And no matter the color I think they are all beautiful.
But it is a real pressure that ethnic women feel because of the under representation in American media and culture.
