What if it really *is* homoerotic, like boybands and pop music?

I reserve the right to call showtunes gay.

Just like calling bisexuals greedy. Chill it with the microaggressions. Sexuality is no different than race or disability.
Posted by MrsElleCappysnatch

Can we add "retarded" too?

I have to be honest....when someone uses either of those words, I totally am judging their intelligence.

Sorry, not sorry

It's like, you can't find a more appropriate word to accurately describe your thoughts in an adult manner? There are like a billion words to choose from.
Exactly

@MyStarsShine

It's not being "insensitive". It's called not putting up with homophobic bullying.

I love how Gay people try to equate their cause to black people. Stop that BS - Black people agenda and LGBTQ agenda is two different things.

1) Black people are conservative - just because a black person is for the black cause don't mean they need to back LGBTQ, most don't even agree with it - and racism to them is more of a problem than sexual orientation

2) 30% -40% Of Gay men (presuming they are white) voted for Trump (because white patriarchy)

Let me guess...they think an And 1 shirt, basketball shorts, knee socks, and slides is acceptable fashion in their 30s?

How does one use "gay" as an insult, saying something is agay is not an insult.

So are you okay with someone calling something they think is stupid "ablack"?

Stupid? Who siad anythhing about calling something stupid "agay" look I get it it's a slippery slope and I get your point- but that word meant something else before the gay community hijacked it

I don’t have experience living as a black person but the ones I am friends with and interact with have extremely different views than what you are putting out there in this thread.

I am into honesty and keeping it real. We all do stereotyping, in some form or fashion.

I genuinely admire some things gay people do and I think they do it better than the rest. I hope it’s not offensive to compliment them on it?

Well, it's sort of like saying Jews are naturally good bankers or that black people are exceptionally good at basketball and singing. So, yeah, if I were you I'd hold back on giving that as a compliment.

Again, who really cares? Asking seriously in the idea that it's pretty much agreed on that anyone who uses "Gay", "Retarded" and other words brandished in a derogatory manner aren't often worth paying any mind to.

Hate, bullying, oppression & co. all have worse manifestations. And I stand by anyone who wants to defend others against people who want to threaten another's wellbeing.

That being said; life is hard and it will never, ever be a utopia. If someone in an age range outside of the last throes of teen angst--say 22yrs old max., to be generous--is still suffering heavily because of words lobbed at them by an ignorant asshole, I'm not sure they're even worth defending.

🗣

I think it not only depends on the intention but also your accent...for example, British people can call me queer and a “fairy” all day because it’s too funny to be insulted

Not even trying to make a joke

I’m serious

But we aren’t talking or using it about prostitution at this point? Yeah the history is interesting but the current usage since circa mid 1990s from what I remember is referring to things that are lame or uncool as “gay” which honestly I used up until I was a teenager. Was a hard habit to break.

But once I grasped what I was really saying it felt necessary.

Yeah there was a case here in UK about a radio dj who used it in similar reference if I recall. I think alot of kids used to, but thankfully times do change for most people

It was out of excessive love for the LGBTQ community that the OP was posting pics of another DXP user on the front page the other day, in the comments section. Parading 'Carlos' around in a futile attempt to troll me seemed like paki-bashing. So, I guess it's safe to say OP is a closet homophobe . As for the other one, the female support secretary , she's just clueless. She erroneously thinks that being politically correct means shoving your opinions down everyone's throat. That's a form of fascism, intolerance and policy of thought. OP and the woman are hypocrites.

I guess our DXP duo should be more like this, gay as in gay Paree :

You're pjxscott?

The target audience of this thread isn't here (not surprisingly), but their condoning of said terms by her young son among himself and friends, is the purpose of the thread.

Words like this don't cut me. But I do think it's important to point out that if grown ass users here are capable of throwing them around without regard, there's no doubt in my mind that they are doing so around their children as well, whom are most likely using it around their friends and other children.

Like most things, context matters.

My gay friends refer to me as faghag. I wear that tittle with pride.

Language is funny like that tho. Certain terms that were insulting and derogatory have been reclaimed and are worn as a badge of pride, like queer or n word. But you really should be part of that community in order to use that term. Otherwise your gonna offend.

But I promise you, people are more concerned about you voting to take away their basic rights as a human being then the derogatory terms your using to describe them.

No. And “gay” isn’t something you should use in a negative context.

Unless you mean “happy”.

My son uses it a lot and i say to him "you'll get your lights punched out one day if you say that to a gay person".....he says "i do" and they laugh and do it themselves.....you're far too sensitive Mum".

To be fair he can take it back and gets called stuff but like he says they're not too sensitive...

You re prejudiced, gay people don't mind it. It's how they define themselves sexually, why would it be an offensive term?????????????????????????????

Anyway, what I meant is, str8 from the Urban Dictionary: 'So Gay not necessarily meaning homosexual, gay can mean stupid or pointless, even meek, lame or timid.'
