any of you lil fishies (or anyone really)... dabble, or more than dabble in horary astrology?
I try not to because of all the bad karma...

"answers" - it's a form of predictive astrology.
From my very limited knowledge - you draw up a chart of the current planetary picture when a question has entered your mind - and the chart will point you toward the answer (of course only when/if well versed in reading this type of chart). It's all very complex and confusing. I've just started looking at it to be honest. But I can see some very interesting things that validate different questions I ask.

Well I had read that there is a negative karmic consequence to predictive astrology on this site in a thread entitled "eighth house horrors" a while back. Basically someone was trying to say that another person had a violent death coming because they had so many signs in the eighth house. It struck a cord with me.

what i read awhile back is, to avoid death is to use common sense. Sort of like the idea behind "Feng Shui" (based on common sense) and while it's big market/hugely profitable to get into.
but some astrologers are "off". I read that Nicole Brown Simpson's transit warned her of surgery or a severe knife wound, so i dont think that avoiding the operation table was the answer due to such a terrible coincidence.
Or Sharon Tate's Air trine in the 8th house, including Sun, would warn her of such a horrific death either.

@dj - I have a very.... let's say, detached view on such things. If things are going to happen, they are going to happen, and my piddly self (rightly) should and likely won't have any such impact from wanting to learn. I could see if I were using this in a malicious way, but it's all just curiosity (hopefully not killing the cat). As far as predictive astrology goes, I'm of the belief that things are laid out subconsciously already. To me; this is like opening the book one last time before the test. The test won't change, and I certainly am not assured that I opened to the correct page of the book.

I have Merc in the 8th, it's only natural for me to be curious about these things even if negative karma is the result
- and I figure at this point, I'm already nose deep in karma, it's easier to bury the remaining 15% of myself than to dig out the first 85. At least then I can have the satisfaction of completion!
I've seen that people will ask something as minute as "where did I lose my keys". I fail to see how that would bring about karmic repercussions. It almost points to a universal mind interconnectedness if you ask me.

Djbuck's message is spot on, as i've had the same experiences, many many times.
Not water sun but I have many times encountered this. Not only in dreams but in reality. Spirits DO NOT want you to know which you should not know. If that makes any sense. It is because they are operating on their level and they are doing things behind the scenes to ENSURE safety and protection for us in the real world. it is a very difficult task they're doing....and not all spirits are good either, but RESPECT is what they want. Which many astrologers do not have respect of.

No, I do not engage in horary or predictive astrology. I had a negative experience many years ago with respect to the latter which was coincident with the return of the spirit (?) of someone long dead who had resided in the house I was living in. I had been warned (personally and as a Pisces) not to enter this field. Point taken.

I guess that comes down to what your beliefs on spirits are...
I would have to say my beliefs aren't the same.
but these differences are what make such topics so appealing to me... seeing what people believe in

I was never drawn for the future either lol.... and and as far as knowing the future.... meh highly unimportant to me.... because really with life's infinite paths, choice is still in the way.
I guess it intrigues me as to how or why such a thing might work. the elevation of what that means in the grand scheme. it all ties together in my head with all things mentioned in various posts of this thread.

Each person makes his or her own choice, of course.
I've read elsewhere that this is territory where fish may not want to swim.
Personally, I'll leave this to our Scorp bros and sisters. I suspect that they're equipped to handle it.
Astrology says, they're definitely stronger in their own way. Or those with strong stellium/sun in 8th house too. But they're good with information and keeping secrets. Even spirits can trust them.

I'm currently at a point where I'm being pulled between deezie's beliefs and those of dj/lisa. There is just a lot of really evil shit out there that I really didn't know about before now. Or I know, but now I know it on a whole new level. I have to say though that for me personally I was only ever drawn to astrology to explore facets of the self, not the future.
same here. About my past relationships, understanding family, self, and why astrologers write what they do as well. As long as you never lose your individuality, there's alot out there that can persuade you if youre lost.
