I'm glad the topic starter was mature enough to NOT seek out his hearts desire, or follow his whims at every twist and turn. He values loyalty and commitment. We're on the same page, and I think he made the right decision for himself.

I don't believe that everlasting desire with a person is realistic or possible. Generally, it's a novelty that inevitably levels off (though not completely). Being so, I'd take loyalty and stability over passion, excitement and that uncertainty of not knowing what's next to come, any day.

I mean, I understand that there are those who find the dramatic path more fulfilling, but let's not assume that the more placid of us (OP, for instance) are any less fulfilled or happy.

I like TLS and probably would have lost respect for him, had he ditched the Sag, to be honest. That kind of self-restraint and discipline is so rare these days.


To me it looks like people in this thread use TLS' crush as a cathartic way to relive theirs, vicariously.. through his experience.

That's not true. Some people, you won't have their heart unless they love you out of principle and duty. It's part of what makes them who they are.

I'm not saying that the two are incompatible, but can you really say that someone's heart is faithful to you when they are deeply and passionately obsessed with another person, dreaming about them, fantasizing about them all day long, writing about them for years? Is that a loyalty of the heart?

I think that's a stretch. Also, I've been reading more of his posts and TLS seems to be admitting that his heart was unfaithful at times, and feeling guilt over that.

And I hear your point on the current life. I am just expressing my view I guess, not even my view on what's best for him, which obviously is a decision he had to make. His later writings seem to show more and more contentment with his choice, not less, but I still think this is going to nag at some part of him. From my standpoint, and I think for a lot of Scorpios, what he passed up is the essence of love. I think it really does come down to different viewpoints on what love is. The Taurus preference for stability and comfort vs. the Scorpio willingness and even desire to feel the extreme highs and lows and "plumb the depths" as he says. Ultimately I don't like this pairing for that reason - totally different philosophies of life and love in my opinion.

I love the Winona/Michelle photo, and Scorcese too.

I think TLS made the right decision for him but would have loved to read how it would have been with the Scorp.

I loved the way TLS was so open with this thread and it made for refreshing insight. It was so easy to discuss this and other topics and learn from it all.

Ok just realized my very lovely response got cut off, so the several hours later, not quite so poetic version of that was: I agree with you on the loyalty in ones heart - I don't agree on the difference in Taurus and Scorpio love and maybe because my moon is Scorpio, maybe, I am not the right Taurus to disagree, but I would say that as a Taurus my stability is found within myself and so I do not only have the willingness but I do desire to feel the extreme highs and lows and "plumb the depths" because I know that I bring myself comfort and stability - I'm just a chill gal - it frees me up to take this ride with my partner and feel everything and live every moment - and honestly, because I am naturally a stable and person, who loves comfort, that I feel its necessary to forge bonds such as those in order to really live, otherwise I become boring, fat and lazy, so to speak. So, I don't believe the Taurus and Scorpio philosophies on life and love are that different. I think we can be really good for each other because ultimately life is about stretching ourselves and I have found Scorpios, men and women, help me do that.

^^^ totally agree with you taurusintexas with the Taurus and Scorpio love being not that different then what people think having the highs and lows and reaching the depths of the abyss is why I love Scorpios and I believe what fellow Taurus admire about Scorpio energy.

I realized you weren't being literal. Neither was I.

My point was that had he wanted to leave, he would have done so without any encouragement from her end. Ultimately, it's his choice whether he wants to stay or go.

And just why would I encourage my boyfriend to date another woman? If he opts out and decides that whatever we have is not worth trying for, then he can go his merry way. I won't cling onto him or coerce him into staying with me, but I certainly wouldn't take an active role in urging him to pursue her either. That strikes me as manipulative.

Besides, who's to say that he and the Scorp would have led a happier life together? They could wound up being incompatible and miserable down the road, and he would have paid a steep price (his relationship with the Sag) to find out.

I'm in a new relationship with a Taurus, nearly five months, and I think all my research and thread reading I did previously has helped me to look at things differently.

I often think about the 'passionate, obsessive, highs and lows' versus 'stable, easy going, longevity' arguement.

I question now whether I should really be with someone who I'm more obsessive and passionate about or if I should put more value on the easy going and stable vibe we have going on. I'm sacrificing a portion of the 'passion' and gaining someone who does what he says, wants to be with me, and who adds to my life in a good way.

I've had lots of shorter term romances (six months to three years) where the drama, passion, obsession levels were high. Thy were good but they also took their toll on me and I don't think they could have been sustained for 30 years.

I could hold out again for someone who scores a 9 or 10 in the passion department but they usually only score a 5 or 6 in other areas. Those areas being reliability, life goals, comparability, and loads of other ones. The point is I've been there and done that and it really doesn't work. It's like Groundhog Day. Doing the same thing achieved the same result and it's not a good one.

Back in September last year I made a wish list with all the qualities I thought I'd like, want and need in a fella. This current fella hits at least 95% of those. I would say that scores pretty high! Granted, it's less passionate but then again, it's less dramatic, less overly emotional, less roller coaster. I don't think that's a bad thing.

What I'm saying is that I thought I'd value that 'passion' more especially being Scorp Sun and Venus but I'm not sure I do. I learnt to look at it differently from TLS's decision to stay with the Sag and not go with the Scorp.

Although I still think he could have pursued the Scorp before getting more serious with the Sag. I think he missed out there by

He lived out everything he wanted and managed to keep his family in tact, loves his woman and his daughter. He's more than content with his life. Frankly one of the bravest things he wrote, and I agree with is, is "if this is just another regret in my life then add it to all the other ones". That takes a real person who knows their limits and knows who to break them for.

I think there's a difference between being in something which is passionless and something where there is a good amount of passion which is sustainable. It might not score a 9 or 10 but scoring a 7 on the 'Passiometer' is still pretty bloody good.

This is true but I guess that's how and what he made his decisions on. He described those 'stale mate staring competitions' and no one would budge. Neither really stepped forward for each other. That's a reasonable indicator right there.

She used to do the purposeful and provocative flirting with him but also with others, usually to provoke a reaction from TLS and when he didn't give it she would either ramp it up or go cold. I think overall it just gave him a mind fuck and that equated to drama for him.

Can you give me some insight into the "why" in some of these scenarios? Is power over others or power of any form just the goal here? My readings say they are oriented towards power mainly.



My father is a Scorpio. Most amazing man I have ever met in my life, not manipulative at all. Very kind and we just click and understand each other like no other people on earth. Male scorpios seem *very* different though.



Maybe your experience of the familial female scorpios oriented you away from them romantically. That happened with me and Virgos. They say taurus loves virgo. I think they make good business associates, but I could NEVER consider one of them romantically. My mom was so frigid; she seemed to have no sexuality to her or aesthetic sense at all. She never slept with my scorpio dad, made him sleep on the couch because he snored, and eventually left him and has stayed alone for the rest of her life. I was a very affectionate child and I could sense she didnt' really like it. From an infant, I would kiss her alot and try to hug her, etc. and she would almost cringe. They seem to be really practical in love and not very passionate. When I see that weakness they have (they seem really weak as far as their presence and constitution), and that nervous energy crackling behind their eyes, I just instantly see them through the lense of my mother. I see that Virgos are almost always attracted to me. We click on a communication level but they hold NO sex appeal for me, and they always seem to want romantic relationships from me. I have to keep pushing them off.



There was one super hot Virgo I knew in college; she threw herself at me. Literally grabbed my hand at a party and walked me back to my apartment (a few floors up), told me she wanted to hook up acting all passionate, then she flopped herself in my lap....As soon as I initiated touch, she seemed to get overwhelmed; she got super nervous and was like "maybe we shouldnt' do this" and then just wanted to talk and hang out. Probably the most un-sexy annoying experience of my life.
