@ VH: I love this show already..the coolest part for me is the blond king and his sister. When he tells her she can f**k the whole army for all he cares, as long as he gets his throne back...lol. He is evil. Also, Sean Bean is in it. Where is P-Angel's thoughts on the show?

Without ruining ANYTHING for you, you'll come to see the characters more so as flawed people with various shades of grey. Its only just the start smile
When I learned they were doing the series, I actually started put ups of Eddard (Sean Bean() for P heh smile
If you already like Daenerys, stay tuned smile *ZIPS HIS LIPStars
VH so you read the books? I haven't but now wish I had...I actually watched it again and can't wait to see what happens next.
OOooo i've been meaning to research what that show is about. i've seen the bulletin ads everywhere. ...

Absolutely. Ironically, I HATE most fantasy fiction but I frigging love this series. I'm through most of the books. Not all yet! I'm enjoying it slowly smile. If you liked episode 1, pick up the first book. There are many nuances you might dig
**Spoiler**I can't believe the boy is alive...and poor direwolf Lady.

Hey! I was hoping you caught episode two.
That part where Eddard kills Lady always gets to me, even in the book. I found this article today

"All of the dogs we received were from rescues and some from private parties that felt that they couldn't deal with the dogs anymore, because they were rambunctious big dogs," said Warren. "They'd never been on set before [and] we had a huge amount of work to do to get them from 'See Spot run to the backyard' to make them look like they did for the show."
The dogs were such a hit among the cast that 15-year-old Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa, adopted the dog who plays her direwolf, Lady, after production had wrapped."
Kind of bad ass she adopted her own "Direwolf" lol.

One of my favorite parts...

Followed by

Take it, Joffrey!
Lol, I loved those parts too, I really like the midget brother character. I like that the dofs they used for the movie were rescues. I want my own "direwolf" too!
*dogs*
Ok VH, I like how the plot is going with the Daenerys. Its almost like she has the power now. Also, I do not care for Lady Stark too much, find her annoying. (maybe its the actress). Anyway, does John Snow die? I thought they said that in the preview of the next episode. Noooooo!

Hey Sag chic smile
Daenerys
Yea, for some reason all the gals love Daenerys. I'm glad you're getting into her story. It only gets better and this is all in book 1. She's coming into her own as the Khaleesi.
Kaitlyn Stark...
Interesting opinion of her! Why do you find her annoying? its kind of odd, they seem to be trying to lightened her up a bit. For example, in the scene where Jon Snow is saying good bye to Bran, she tells him "I want you to leave". In the book, she literally tells Jon, "I wish it was you that fell" with pure coldness.
Jon Snow...
Ah Jon's my favorite smile. I shall say no more. We shall speak more next week, Lady Sag smile
Hi VH!
Ok, I really, really love the midget brother. (Forget names still). He is actually very funny and a good person. But I am angry that Lady Stark is going to have him arrested. Again, she annoys me because she has a good life (for those times), loving children and a husband and she still is not happy. I am so glad John Snow is alive and helping out with his fellow wall guards. Now, they keep saying winter is coming. I am assuming that it is harsh, fierce and dark and can last for years. Then the so-called "White Walkers" appear? I am planning to buy the book series to read as you said the "nuances" the TV show misses. They are moving very fast through all the characters.
Hey Lady!
Hah Tyrion Lannister is an AMAZING character and the actor playing him is doing a fantastic job.
That's SOO funny that you hate Kaitlyn Stark. Let me ask you an interesting question then. If you were a mom and the major suspect to the attempted murder of your son was right before your eyes, would you do nothing?
As for "Winter", yes. In their little world, summers can span decades and winters can last a lifetime. And bad shit happens during winter as they keep foreshadowing.
If you enjoy reading I think you'll like the book. The author has a good FLOW to how he writes that works well. Mind you, I hate most fantasy fiction now a days but I really dug Martin's work. I think once you bite into it, there are scene's in the show that you'll probably favor more from the books telling. For example, Daenerys's wedding night plays out FAR differently in the book than on the show. In the show, it made it seem that Drogo practically raped her. Plus if you're appreciating the characters now, you'll find that appreciation deepened with Martin's narration of them. The tournament actually is bigger event on the book and you gain insight into the Kingsguard (The white haired dude you see as one of the Kingsguard is actually Mr. Super Bad ass but you don't get that feeling from the show)
The one MAIN thing I wanted to mention if you're planning to pick up the book, is it would be worth it to pick it up ASAP and try to get caught up. There's a big climax coming up that is probably better told through the book than what they're going to do in the show. Literally when I got to that point in the book, in the back of my mind I'm screaming "no fucking way!".

V, I am definitely going to pick up the book series. I actually have a Barnes & Noble gift card that I will use. I might go tonight. I can see how they are rushing through the story. There are a lot of characters in this series and the writers have a lot to cover. I definitely want to read more about Daenerys's wedding night since that was done in a hurry.
As far as Lady Stark goes, I understand her wanting to find out about how Bran got hurt. But I don't like the way she treats Jon. Its not his fault his father brought him home. Also, Jon is so good to his Stark half-brothers. You would think that back then, a woman would have to deal with her husband and other women because that's the way it was. You had to take it. I think its the actress they used. I am not happy with her so far...lol. I will see how she is portrayed in the books.

*Laugh* Haters going to hate!
In truth I actually am not pleased with who is playing Kaitlyn. Not what I imagined.
*Waits patiently to see Ladysag's reaction to Episode 5* smile
Hi VH!
Ok, please tell me that Lord Stark doesnt die from his injury! WTH is up with Kaitlyn Stark's sister? Is she nursing a 7 year old? She's crazy. The Hound finally stood up to his brother.
Also, I read the book up to last week's episode. I see how Danearys was not raped..lol . Good for her though..
I am worried about the midget brother and what happens to him. Did you see you can download an ap to see episode 7 early?
@VH...where art thou?
/>
Sorry! It's been a crazy couple of weeks lol.

To answer the question yes or no would ruin the book so I will say nothing and let you play it out. It's weird, I don't know whether to tell you to read the book NOW and then follow the rest of the show or recommend just watching the show then reading the book. This last episode was pretty intense for the show and lets just say...."ITS NOT FUCKING DONE YET" lol.

Hahah yes, even when I got to that chapter in the book, I said to myself "what...the HELL...". The whole thing just adds to the weirdness of the situation. She's a bit crazy but is she wrong?

Hi VH! I did not see episode 7 so don't tell me yet...I will post more later...
Yikes, a golden crown for sure! Who was the man who stood in for the dwarf brother and why?Is Lord Stark finding out that Joffrey is not the King's son? He is the product of incest, right?

Hahah yes, a gold crown indeed. Rightfully deserved smile

The man who stood for Tyrion was one of the guys in the bar where Katelyn took him prisoner. Its better told in the book but in the journey, Tyrion was pretty much looking for someone who he could persuade to his side. That's the dude.
And yes, Eddard, in trying to investigate Jon Arryn's (the old Hand) death, found that it came from looking into Robert's whoring and boozing which lead to bastards.
And yes, by now you realize that Joffrey is the product of the incest between Jaime and Cercei. In essence, Joffrey is not Robert's true son or heir.
You should find tonight's episode good Big Grin
The Queen is ruthless, she will only see Joffrey as King. Funny how she mentioned to Eddard that inbreeding(or whatever word she used) kept the "line" pure. I feel bad for Jon Snow. Why wasn't he made a ranger?
Ok VH, you must come back to your thread..I need you!! Lol
I loved episode 8! I am wondering what will happen to Lord Stark. He does not seem like a man who will submit to the boy King Joffrey. I also love Tyrion...the actor who plays him is great. He is smart, witty and cute...lol. I also like that Rob is more in the story now. I like his character. I am not sure his army can win though.
Oh, and the Khaleesi, does she have some dragon powers? Or will her son? That question was asked by my friend who I got watching it too...lol. I also hope that Jon comes back to his family.

Hey you! Big Grin
So within the first 10 mins of Epi 8, I'm screaming at the TV at this line....
"The first sword of Braavos does not run..." HELL YA!!!!
Ah and Lord Stark is in quite a situation. What do you think he'll do? Submit to Joffrey or stand for his honor? Mind you, look at the politics of the situation. He doesn't know where Arya is and Sansa is in the Lannisters custody. What would you do if it was your child?
Tyrion is fantastic and only gets better. Peter Dinklage is doing a wonderful job portraying him.
As for Daenerys, it appears that she has something doesn't she?

I can't answer all of this 100% truly without ruining for you!
Glad to hear you got another person hooked Big Grin. I have about 10 people I have converted to the show and at least half of them are reading the book now.

All I can say is....do not skip this Sunday. I would wager some of your questions will be answered. Keep in mind this season only has 10 episodes so were down to the last 2.
Haha so check out something I found.
If you go to google, you should see they have this little google guitar thing

Ah! yes, Winter Is Coming....I believe Lord Stark will submit to Joffrey for his daughters' sakes. But what about Rob and the fact that he will be fighting them?
LadySag!!!!
I hope to high hell that you're waiting in anticipation for tonight's episode!!!! I'm bouncing off the frigging walls right now waiting for it to start lol
Okay...
AFTER you watch and absorb Episode 9, I'd like you to take a look at someone else's reaction to the ending.

LOLOLOLOL I laughed at this for hours last night.
OMG! Where do I begin? Of course I too am pissed off that they killed off Lord Stark (Lol at the videos). I was not surprised when Joffrey did that though. Because I could see how ruthless he is, he does not love Sansa and never will. Probably will not be able to love anyone.
*I think Jon should be able to leave the wall to help his family; there should be no repercussions.
*Now Tyrion, what will he do? He is loyal to his family but also a kinder man than his brother and nephew.
*My friend thinks Arya will grow up to lead an army in revenge of her father. I too believe this is true..
*One question I have, who is the young guy with Lady Stark and Robb? I at first thought he was one of Lord Stark's sons. Is he a cousin? He is the one who is always with Robb.
*And Drago, I hope he lives, can't wait to see what happens in the tent!
Oh, and nothing of Bran recently, does he come back into the picture?
Wasn't the look on Tyrion's face priceless when he got trampled? Lol

Haha where to begin indeed! How did you take the ending out of curiosity? LIke I KNEW it was coming from the book but it still got an emotional reaction out of me. As you can see in the vids, so were may others lol. I read SOOO many posts that were like "Okay so my g/f is so upset she says she wont watch the last episode" LOL
Tyrion just gets better and better. In Book 2 / Season 2, he has a much greater impact Big Grin
Interesting theory on Arya! Who do you think would follow a little girl? smile
The guy with Robb and Lady Stark is Theon Greyjoy. He's sort of a "ward" of the Starks. If you notice though sometimes he's treated a little different than the rest. You learn more about that in book 2. Him and Robb are practically brothers but Theon is actually kind of being "held hostage" by the Starks due the rebellion his family had started.
As for Drogo, you'll see on Sunday and I can't wait to hear your reaction lol

Hmmm I think you've seen all you're going to see of Bran in Season 1 / Book 1.

Hahah yes.

VH!, I thought the fact that his daughters were watching was heart-wrenching. I wonder if Kaitlyn had been around would things had turned out differently?
Also, the first season is the whole first book? If I read the 2nd book, it will be the story of the 2nd season? Or do I continue the first book?
TONIGHT!!!!

I don't think Caitelyn could have done anything. In fact, she would probably be dead or used to force Eddard into submission in other ways.
Yes. Season 1 = Game of Thrones. Season 2 = Clash of Kings(Book 2).

I found this and thought you'd laugh as much as I did. What if Game of Thrones was a "Buddy comedy"? Big Grin

Thirty Minutes!!!!!!
OMG! Where to begin! I love Jon Snow, his travels off the wall will be awesome. And WOW about Drogo, I was upset he died. But the ending with Khaleesi and the little dragons was fantastic! I can't wait til next year for it to come back.
Haha where to begin, indeed!
I was REALLY worried about the finale. There was much potential for it to be so f'ing cheezy but they pulled it off.
Drogo - hehe I take it you didn't expect that? Big Grin It was sad watching Dany put him out of his misery. Like I knew it was coming but it didn't matter.
Jon Snow - "Are you a man of the Night's Watch or a bastard who wants to play at war?". That sent chills up my spine. That with Mormont's epic speech while the Wall prepared for war. Hoorah
Dany and the Dragons - I was REALLY worried they were going to make the dragons look TERRIBLE and overplay it but they did it perfectly. They looked FANTASTIC, they kept true to the book where one of them was feeding off her breast, and plus...it sets the stage. Dragons have returned smile
Bran / Rikkon / Catelyn - The scenes where they come to realize Ned's been killed. Man, that fucking broke my heart.
Robb - KING OF THE NORTH! Big Grin. One note here. Remember when the Northmen we're swearing to Robb? Remember that scene for Book 2. You'll understand why in Season 2.
Some of the beginning of Book 2 was blended into the finale so you got a little taste of Clash of Kings.

A frigging year until Season 2. It's going to be a LONG ass Winter Tongue
*sigh*
i'm going to miss this show A LOT.

WHEEELLLSSS!!!!! *huge ass bear hug*

Glad to see you're a fan. Have you read the books?
Pretty picture btw!!!
VH!!!! are we actually here at the same time?? Tongue
i haven't read the books, but it was the weirdest thing. my brother told me i should watch the show, cause it was really good. so i downloaded all the episodes and watched them. then right after a guy at my work shows up with one of the books! haha he told me that the books are awesome and that i should read them sssooooo, i'm highly considering it.
thank you too btw for the compliment
Lady Sag and Wheelie, Moons of my Life Big Grin, something to tie you over until Season 2...
