Posted by UnicornSagDo you think there would be much snow there at Christmas time ?
Austria is a great country to visit, even more in Christmas timeI wanted to go there for new year but we were too late to book a trip so it will probably be next Christmas destination for me as well. Wanted to go in spring time but I think it's a better choice for Christmas although it sure is beautiful earlier as well.My friend said it's great, saw photos and looks really amazing
Posted by UnicornSagThanks SagPosted by MyStarsShineWell that really depends on time weather when it comes that time, sometimes there is and sometimes there isn't. We have similar climate here so it's very uncertain. It's often snowing for Christmas but sometimes there can be snow earlier and none for that time so it's really hard to say. I think this year there was. When we started trip (2 days before new year) here started snowing and it was like that all through Austria and GermanyPosted by UnicornSagDo you think there would be much snow there at Christmas time ?

it's better you bring another person so you go half half on expenses.
my mother in law said it was 359 euros per night in Iceland for a hotel on average, so for a week's worth that's over 2000 euros. she had to take a hostel type of room so it would be half the cost but still over 1000 a week for her to stay in Iceland.click to expand

Went there with my mom to visit family, near Vienna. It was a long time ago but I would love to go again. We went in early summer and stayed in a small village near the Italian border. Beautiful, sometimes beyond words. And I live in a very beautiful part of the US.

Renting flats/rooms is another story. Vienna is a growing city and it very much depends on where you wanna be in residence, the inner districts are far more expensive than the suburban ones.click to expand

i didnt bother to look up and search where he's at now i'm assuming in a mental institution.
why for the need to put me down? you could just easily say, 'no he's not locked up or in prison he's in....but instead you have to be nasty about it. what's wrong with you? people arent walking around being all smart to your standards.
edit - it's people like you that have abusive tendancies that talk like that to another human being. i've known them and they do exactly like you. gaslight.click to expand
Posted by NemDeuxThanks again for this info. No prob about prices...I will be loaded by then lolPosted by MyStarsShinevienna is not a cheap place per se; the usual touristy spots like schönbrunn (including the zoo; the oldest in europe and on the grounds of schönbrunn) and the restaurants etc do charge obnoxious prices.Posted by NemDeuxThank you Nem, very helpful

👍
but the the trams are fairly cheap so you can see a lot just by driving around the ringstraße; and walks in the city are free. most churches do not charge a fee; most museums are fine adults anywhere between 10/12 €; up to 18 it's free.
make sure to book early (the sooner the cheaper).click to expand

Vienna is a cosmopolitan city. Be warned, it is expensive. Favorite things to see were the Hofburg and the Roman ruins excavation in Michaelerplatz, and Schonbrunn.
Salzburg is charming. My one regret was not visiting the Capuchin monastery while I was there.click to expand

The Vienna State Opera is one of the world's most famous and it's really pretty by the way, so if you're into classical music, it's pretty much one of the places to be! The Wiener Musikverein Concert Hall should be mentioned as well.
There's a vivid music scene in general, it depends on what you like. There are Jazz Clubs as well as Clubs for the Electronic music lovers and a lot of locations where you can listen to live music any day of the week. Are you looking for a genre in particular? Then I can probably name places.
