I wouldn't leave it much longer if i was you, you aint got much time to play with now, and you dont want it to feel like signing a contract between you both, you need to get the essential part out of the road first, then get talking "properly" and get all that bulls**t out of the road, otherwise you will both be left in a situation that dosn't feel any more special.
Personally if i liked somebody that much then i wouldn't be able to hold myself back, plus its so draining on emotional resources, all this not knowing between each other.
Either get it done or accept that you wont, hate to be harsh but you need a kick up the arse, he does too, but he aint gunna make the first move, do it now, he is leaving anyway so if you have to endure a little embarrassment, then it wont be for long.
