hey everyone, I was always in shape and loved working out.. 3 years ago i gained 80lbs on a medication and stopped working out im ready now to get back into it... i want to start out lite so was thinking Yoga.. does anyone know if yoga helps with weight loss? im chaning my eating as well a combo of diet and excersize to do the trick.

it won't be as effective as cardio, which is the quicker way to lose weight.
That spin class is what's gonna help you lose the weight, though.
I've heard cardio is an ideal choice for those looking to drop weight, but also that an increase in appetite may result due to the energy expenditure.
Not that this should discourage anyone from trying it out--running is known to intensify appetite as well. Yet all the runners I know have builds ranging between lean & fit to emaciated-looking. LOL.click to expand

Oh running 5 miles only burns around 480 for me... I can say normally I run and do yoga... but again leg has not been doing the best so pulled back running and more yoga...
Most people also don't know that people who actually do practice yoga... hatha actually... it focus on the breathe but also... having a healthy diet is consider apart of it.
