The more you do actually have in common, the more/easier it is to let the small things slide.
What we have in common:
*Both intellectual
*Both adventurous
*Both spontaneous
*Both affectionate
*Both place a high value/importance on family closeness
*Both are financially, emotionally & health-wise stable
*Both like all genres of music
*Both are willing to & love communicating, even when the convo is difficult or sensitive
*Both require mental stimulation a lot which is why our relationship is never dull.
*Both have the same religious/spiritual beliefs
*Both have the same idea of what "fun" is...THIS REALLY HELPS KEEP THE "FUN" IN OUR MARRIAGE!!
*Both have the same sex drive...Our timing is always spot on.
*Both withdrawal & retreat to our own personal space once we are stressed or need me-time (This really helps too...we deal with stress the same way so neither of us is confused or offended when the other needs the very thing the other would need if the tables were turned)
*Both are musically talented (both play piano, organ, etc.)
What we DON'T have in common:
1. He hates chick flicks lol
2. He's way more OCD than I am...He'd be the 1 to rearrange a mounted picture that's not even f'ing crooked!
3. He believes in spanking kids, I don't
4. He's more emotional than me. He's not a cry baby, but b/w the both of us, he's most likely to cry during a funeral than I am, which frustrates him sometimes b/c he feels like a wussy & not like "the man" when he's being more emotional than I am in high-intense situations
5. I am more plain jane & simple than he is. He has to have expensive & good-taste things, while I'm ok just with the necessitities. (His tv's have to be 50 inches or more, whereas I'm cool with something small, for example)
6. He's wayyyyy more into sports than I am! The same way he doesn't get my obsession with my reality tv shows, is exactly how I feel about his weird obsession with sports

lol @ Fox
This topic breeds the same emotions that asking for a Pre-nup does. People think it's about lack of trust when it's really about protecting self. It's like insurance...no one is saying that it will happen, BUT in the case that it does, you're protected
Plus, people tend to get very ugly when a divorce/breakup happens. All of the sudden, it's "Well that baby technically doesn't look like me" lol

Some women are really nasty, so I don't blame a guy for wanting a DNA test done. Usually girls like that have bad taste in men & only sleep with no job hoodrats who don't have two pennies to rub together. So when they do get knocked up, they PICK the one who has the most money (even if it's in a piggy bank lol) & can at least provide...it doesn't even matter if he is the real father or not. I've seen it happen in real life too.
