I think you're missing the point of Sun vs. Moon energy. This dynamic exists across all of the signs. A Leo Sun is no less a Leo than a Leo Moon, especially when you consider the nature of domicile vs. detriment.

Leo is in its domicile as a sun placement, meaning it is most comfortably expressed. Trying to "strip" Leo energy from it's ruler The Sun is itself a contradiction. In order for Leo energy to be Leo energy it needs the sun and therefore the sun placement. That would be like trying to strip Mars energy from Aries or Libra energy from Venus.

Also from a scientific standpoint, the moon's light comes from where? The sun. It is borrowed light. Does this negate the purpose or importance of the moon? No, but it definitely doesn't negate the importance of the sun either. If anything it bolsters it.

Leo moons are so delusional in their arrogance that it's quite entertaining. Never met one that was self-aware. I honestly wonder who gets along with arrogant people especially when that arrogance is based on delusions created by oneself.

I'd say the moon placement has more concetrated pride/ambition, which is a fundamental factor in Leo energy. This of course usually translates into arrogance. By having some concentrated aspects, Leo Moon energy may lose certain graces often found in the sun placement.

As the link OP posted suggests, Leo sun portrays the characteristics of a male lion while Leo Moon portrays the characteristics of a female lioness. The male lion is pretty and powerful, but often lazy. The female lion is the workhorse, brimming with pride and cunning. Both have their place and duties in the pride and though they look completely different, are still the same animal.
