Fiddling with consistency leads people to descend into paranoia and panic and that alone is sufficient to bring apocalypse upon a nation.

My city of over 8.6 million people is indefinitely shut down for 7 deaths. We are completely out of toilet paper and Pop Tarts. The feds are telling our governors and mayors to fend for themselves and their cities. People are literally shitting themselves with fear.

There is something much bigger going on here than any of us can understand. I'm starting to think it's an alien invasion and we're all fucked no matter what we do.

Maybe the reason they ‘completely shut down’ a city of 8.7 million over 7 deaths is so those 7 deaths and the infection rate doesn’t increase dramatically due to the nature of the virus. Maybe, just maybe they decided to learn from other countries like China and Italy where it’s spreading like wildfire. Will it be in vain? Who knows, but it’s better than doing nothing and downplaying a very situation. Just a thought.

I understand the measures they are taking to contain it and applaud them for doing "something" rather than "nothing". Having said that, I think mass hysteria is a lot more contagious and deadly than the Coronavirus.

If the feds told us to jump in the East River to "drown the virus" we all would at this point. That's how high-strung people are. Never mind the fact that our immune systems are lowered in a state of panic making us more susceptible to getting sick.

I don't know -.- I'm just frustrated I can longer find Lysol wipes, toilet paper, and more importantly Chocolate Chip Pop Tarts, when I'm certain dirty hoarders stocked up just so cockroaches and rats can crawl on them in a corner.

I strongly disagree with the mass hysteria being more deadlier than the virus. What’s more deadlier than the virus is the ignorance and the downplaying. It’ll cause the virus to spread quicker and playing the ‘mass hysteria’ card is helping it along. Yes mass hysteria is bad but it certainly ain’t the big bad guy here.

On another note I totally sympathise with the whole chocolate pop tart shortage. My Taurus moon goes out to you.
