There is an operation becoming very popular among Muslim females to 'regain' their virginity, a type of surgery called a hymenoplasty.
Religious beliefs aside, would any of you consider becoming a virgin again, whether by surgery, or some reversal of events in time? Does it hold any significance to the ladies of dxp?

er. no. no significance whatsoever. why should there be? why would we want to mutilate ourselves for no apparent reason?
I think it should just grow back after a certain amount of time, like a lizards tail would.

Also, many men hate that they were circumsized, and had no say in it. It's another unnecessary mutilation. If that's what they want later, let them decide for themselves, as an adult. Some men have sued their doctors or have even had surgery to replace it. Not easy though. Religion doesn't cut it either, exuse pun..lol (i really think people should leave each other's bodies alone and stop chopping things off, for the sake of their own insecurities, lack of knowledge or cultural bias.)

When men hit on me, which is rare, since I'm usually with my husband when out and about, but, it does happen from time to time ...... and it's usually younger men who are attracted to a woman of experience who still looks hot at nearly 50.
Once a woman hits a certain age, then she becomes sought after for her sexual expertise .... so, this kind of surgery would put her at a great disadvantage if she were out sniffing around.

They should own up to their non-virginity and just deal. At that point their minds should be free of societal restraints anyway if they went ahead and did the deed. You dont see the men lying about being a virgin? They should stand up for themselves and if that means losing family...

what is the point in paying for surgery to replace your hymen only to have it broken the very next time you have sex? it's not the same as a boob job at all!!! it's not even remotely a 'cosmetic' procedure imo.

I'd honestly only elect for the surgery if I lost it due to extreme circustances, where having sex wasnt my choice and I personally held my virginity in high regard....but even then it would make me feel like a phony.

The whole point of my post is often times losing of the virginity is a CHOICE and this surgery could porbably only considered if the act wasnt a choice (i.e rape).

Ro, I wasn't meaning that boob-jobs and hymen were the same kind of procedure .. I was meaning .. they are both choices for a woman to have done to their body.
Speaking from a psychological standpoint ... it's better for these girls to have a circumcision than not. Without it, they would be greatly effected emotionally and psychologically because they would become outcasts in their society, and shunned.

It's so silly. Losing your virginity is an experience that extends far beyond just losing your hyman.

It's certainly not for me... And i'm disgusted by the whole female circumcision issue, and to think those women do it to the young ones when they would know how it felt...You'd think they would want to save the young ones from having to go through such torture. Nothing short of brutal mutilation, the thought just sickens me... I'm so glad I was born in Australia and free from any radical cultures & traditions.

Oppression causes numbness to the senses .. it is a brainwashing of sorts that triggers to the individual that this is their station in life, and in so doing .. they stop feeling personally and empathetically on the conscious level.
Examples:
During slavery, blacks thought they were inferiour to white people.
Prisoners become institutionalized and cannot function outside of confinement.
Battered-wives stay with their spouses, protect and LOVE thier man.
In the few above examples ... all of these people can't recognize when they suffer or when they see others suffer within this same condition as being any kind of unwarranted infliction. In fact, they don't see it as an infliction at all, meaning .. they have no concept of enduring something that is unacceptable, as we would deem it to be tormenting .. because they have no awareness, from being oppressed, that anything exists outside of this .. like a child being raised in a religious cult.
The mind can no longer differentiate what is suffering and what is normal.
