Thanks for all the replies! Although our split is not yet official, we've lived apart for over a year and my Cancer guy is already on to his next relationship, so I've no expectations of his returning to me. In fact, at this stage, I wouldn't welcome it. For those who are curious, I was the one who initiated divorce, but when we talked about this, he didn't even react or protest--simply wanted to know how quickly it could be done. I'm primarily trying to understand his actions, including why he wanted to marry me in the first place. I'm sure I'll move on as well, but I'm not one who can easily jump from one relationship to the next--for me, some time is needed. I will miss many members of his family and would like to have some closure with them... perhaps even keep in touch occasionally if any of them wish to do so... but I don't believe it is my place to tell them that we have split without allowing him to tell them first. After the split is official, however, I think this is no longer true, particularly if I am asked a direct question.

I can't speak to ascending/descending planets, but in general, Cancer/Taurus is considered to be a very good combination.

I'm contemplating theese sorts of things as I'm now in a relationship that has potential for long-term commitment. Relationships and people are not free of mistakes, flaws and quirks, I just have yet to draw my line on what I would deal with and where I know what it is, it's difficult to say after you've been with someone for years.

I've been contemplating these types of things for as long as I can remember lol I've basically decided to stick with making wise, well informed decisions, and while we cannot predict the future and say for sure what we will and won't do, we can stay true to what feels right when the time comes.
We can intellectualize this all we want, but that's what it will come down to.
Gems are pretty resilient, I'd just tell him clearly what is going on while you two are having a different convo. Something like....
"Hey babe, I need you to really take the reins when we talk later. I've been doing all the heavy lifting for a while and I need a break. A long one, so tonight I'm not going to say anything and you'll know how you're doing by the sounds I make. K? Kiss, kiss, bye. Call you later."
As a gem myself I can take straight up criticsm. If this doesn't work do it again. It takes a few times sometimes if you have to tell both twins. ;~)

After always having a man through much of my teen and early 20s, its kinda liberating to be single and mingle. I date who I want, I keep options open, and its nice. There's a lot of great people in this world, and I don't feel like I'm missing out anymore. I don't really believe in the 'one' anymore. I think we have the potential to meet a lot of good 'ones', w/o having to settle with the first one we find. I dunno. Im just really enjoying myself.
