...is the greatest.
It was told to me that Mohammed intended for Islam to be a way of life only, and that it was his followers who idolized him. He is rumored to have said, "Respect the God of the Jews and the Christians, [for their God is real]."
From where derived the root of this religion?

Both Christianity and Judaism have been mentioned in Quran many times...
Islam is great, I don't have enough courage to follow it or else I would.
My fault.. my weakness?

Henchman
lol.. would use the same title about the Jesus or Moses you piece of shit..??.
Robert Spencer -American Right Wing (Conservative) writer and his bullshits is all we need to know about the Islam.
What the hell.. there we go..
Allah (Arabic: الله, Allāh) is the standard Arabic word for "God". The term is best known in the West for its use by Muslims as a reference to God.[1] Arabic-speakers of all faiths, including Christians and Jews, use the word "Allah" to mean "God".
ALLAH
Now think about the Jesus and "evidence" of his existence and why would he disappeared for 15 years and why nobody noticing him 40 years after his death..
Same goes for the Moses and his funny god Yahwah? but that's another story..

Very good and intelligent post, thank you? but word of advise, don't waste your time on this particular local idiot who don't evn know the compound word of Allah is 'al, and ilah, rooted in ELOHIM divinity, and signifies "the god" par excellence. The word Allah existed for thousands of years long before even Hebrews. It is probably the oldest name man used to call God. Most likely, Adam used the word Allah to call the Lord.
You find the root of Elohim then you'll find the pagan God you are babbling about you dickhead, on the other hand, the word "GOD" was born with the English language, less than ten centuries ago. Can we say that all English speaking nations are pagans because they use the word "God"? What about Chinese monotheists? How should they call God?
Now, The crescent is not a symbol of Islam, but of the Ottoman Empire. The Ottomans are those tribes that moved to Turkey from east and middle Asia. They converted to Islam and built a huge Muslim Empire that ruled the whole Muslim world for centuries.
When they took Islam as a religion they started using the lunar calendar, the calendar that was used by Muslims, Jews and early Christians. Even today, the flag of Turkey has a crescent on it and adapted by Pakistan later There was no crescent on any mosque built before the Ottomans era.
Now what is the moon god again..??
Do you really HAVE THIS URGE TO MAKE ASS OF YOURSELF ALL THE TIME..??

Elohim is plural and means several.. which explains the holy 99 names of Allah. In this way whom ever pick one, there are still 98 one to go.
But I am sure dajal would pick up ?que vadis?.
Forgive them Father for they know not what they do.

Allah should not be associated to Islam alone and in a similar way God can't be a Christian property. Usage of wordly words to define things divine conjures up images which at best are local.
Every religion should be open for debate. Anything which is preached/written by human beings ( elevated or not ) should be accorded respect and also be subjected to scrutiny at the same time. It should neither become a pretext to attack nor be preceived as an assualt on the sensitivites by the followers involved. evaluation of beliefs is a welcome step as only Allah is flawless and the rest is open to exploration - even some of His words when spread by messengers.

U are always welcome to set the precedent.
Atlantic Myst,
You appear to be a very ignorant person, quite sad.
I find the Koran to be anything but violent, it's actually written in a very warm, poetic tone. Perhaps you need to stop associating terrorists with the Koran.
Allah is not a He! C'mon if you've seriously read the Koran you would have understood that God is used in first, second and third person. God has no gender!!!
And the Koran has NEVER been alternated! You've only made an assumption like that because you've probably read something fabricated yourself!
Don't bash other religions by calling them 'crap', go educate yourself.

thelibran
WHAT I MEAN by that is to educate yourself by studying religion before making innacurate assumptions!
Just because some of you don't believe in organized religion doesn't mean you can label it as 'crap'. That's your problem you have no faith.
Mary is the most famous woman in history, I think the majority of the earth's population is 'dumb enough to believe in that crap' - I guess you're outnumbered.
Funny how I see that people here in this forum dismay religion but support astrology?
I'm sure more people would think you guys are the kooks!!! LMAO

(( Just because some of you don't believe in organized religion doesn't mean you can label it as 'crap'. That's your problem you have no faith. ))
EP, What exactly is faith?? Have you ever heard what Nietzsche defined faith? Means not wanting to know the truth. The problem with religious people is that they are blind with this faith. One idiot says Jesus walked on water. Lets all believe in the holy book and then billions of idiots blindly follow that nonsense. He was talking about something he haven't witnessed in the first place. And the billions who follow it are even worse than the one who preaches. This world has more stupid human beings than wise ones. Which can be proved with very simple examples as many times as you want. But for some particular reason, no one is ready to accept that as a fact.
When you try to look at religion from an outsiders perspective, its exactly what George carlin says - the greatest bull $ h_t story ever told. But human beings need religion and the concept of God to make themselves feel better. thats the sad truth. Its like drugs. No drug addict will ever accept the fact that he is addicted and drugs are dangerous. Same goes for religion.

-george carlin
for those poor souls who hvnt seen george carlins stuff abt religion "People feel they have to worship what a book tells them to without having seen it themselves and without even knowing who really wrote it and whether that person just bullbutterted. The pregnant virgin story is obvious enough LOL
You people are pathetic. Faith is only something you were told to follow by someone you never met."
Wow some comment...I guess you have no sense of rules or ethics either.
So why do you believe in astrology then??? Don't contradict yourself!
Astrology orginated the same way religion did!
Astrology was recorded in books thousands of years ago in ancient Egypt, India and China by unknown persons, possibly priests and seers.
I'm not gonna waste anymore time with an atheist so don't bother responding back. If you have nothing positive to say about God don't bother soiling this thread with your disrespectful comments.
Moon eyes
Islam stems from the Abrahamic religions of Christianity AND Judaism and all three share monotheistic beliefs.
Christianity actually stems from Judaism, but I think what you're refering to is the Trinity in comparison to Osiris, Horus and Isis in the Ancient Egyptian beliefs. There is that mother-child figure that's quite prevalent too.

(( So why do you believe in astrology then??? Don't contradict yourself! ))
Astrology was more or less a branch of religion for thousands of years. I dont believe in the astrology as it is understood by most astrologers. They are just like priests. Blind faith and belief talking lots of crap.
But there is a part of astrology which deals with human character and understanding and behavior patters which explains the variations in human brains pattern of working. Thats what I follow and I dont have to believe in it blindly. I can experiment it and get the same results over and over again. Which makes it a natural law. But religion dont have anything of that type. its spooky. meant to confuse people. You need to learn to see the natural elements in the system of astrology and the human imagination. The predictions and explanations are mainly bs. only people who have learned the art of believing can live with such nonsense.

Astrology and Relegion are not contradictory to each other.
Astrology is about planets and stars that affect our life from the moment we were born to our death, giving us the charactiristic qualities that nobody else has.
In Quran,Allah says that he is giving us a small part of knowledge, the knowledge that will guide us more to knowing him and be close to him..and Astrology is a piece of that knowledge.
So the movement of planets and their effections on us is a system created by God to control us.

I received a college education six yrs ago through a 7th Day Adventist REgime. I am not SEventh day but I do prefer to coin myself as a Christian. I did missionary work for two summers in my past. Have been subjected to the God Complex more than any normal person might have been. There are several aspects of the bible that I do not understand:
1. If God is omnipotent, all-seeing, all-powerful who can 'forsee instances' WHY in good conscience would he create Lucifer to begin with? Why would he spend SUCH an investment in mankind knowing the chaos that would soon corrupt it all?
2. God creates.. The Devil destroys.
Why would he create him? And most importantly why would he go to so much trouble and not 'rid' him like a thorn on your side.
God could just eradicate him couldnt he? Why is it that he allowed Lucifer to rise in rank with such equal power. How did that happen.
3.The Dinosaurs.
Why is there no mention of this in the bible. "Monsters" I believe in GEnesis.. but it could not begin to describe the reality of what does EXIST in our history of archeology with dinosaur bones and relics.
4.There are so many stipulations in the bible so rigidly explain you must be saved, you must accept Jesus Christ in your heart...in order to secure your place in Heaven?
What if you are born a paraplegic, what if you have cerebral palsy, or an invalid, what if you were raised in a tiny igloo village in Alaska with no bible belt in clear site, what if you had never been introduced to by Christianity. Are those people going to burn for what they arent capable or familiar with?
Too many unanswered questions...

((There are several aspects of the bible that I do not understand

There is one aspect of the bible which i dont understand. Why do we need Bible as well as a brain? Why couldn't God code all these information inside our brain when he manufactures us if Bible has his word in it? Or if say Bible is like a version upgrade, why didn't he made a brain which could accept such updates without any problem?
that makes God worse than Bill Gates.

"Sorry but frankly your theological studies were worthless judging by these questions"
My major WAS NEVER theology... the missionary work was through my nursing program, the focus was to reach out to children & families in indigenous villages who needed medical attention. My point in saying was that all of the past cultural brainwashing attempts have yet to give me certainty about religion.
Free will does not explain this ---->"What if you are born a paraplegic, what if you have cerebral palsy, or an invalid, what if you were raised in a tiny igloo village in Alaska with no bible belt in clear site, what if you had never been introduced to by Christianity. Are those people going to burn for what they arent capable or familiar with"
"Jesus, or his real birth name Yeshua, is the savior for the gentiles.
If you ask both jewish and christian high ranking theologians they will both tell you jews have salvation thru a 613 law mitzvot, much more tedius."
This one I do not get at all. Can you please dumb it down for me

The questions I posed, do not make sense to me. They are elementary questions I ask of. If you are familiar with the OT and NT please englighten me.
