I haven't watched it, and don't plan too. Seeing the name of the show everywhere become annoying. They even opened a Squid Game cafe in Paris where people would queue for 6+ hours. This hysteria needs to stop.
Posted by rabidtalkerLol. It’s okay to celebrate the Koreans without all actors mattering them.
I like that we are seeing quality programming even if it's being hyped to hell and back. I want to see more, no matter where it comes from. If it happens to be korea, africa, europe or murica all the better.

Just binged on it... 9 episodes in one sitting, it's a great show, imo

Not even tempted by what appears to be another game-based, non-story. Like fake reality TV with added special effects.
I'd probably get more of a kick by imagining the room will blow off if I don't finish my task in 30 min

I watched the preview but I thought it was going to be ridiculously violent and graphic, so I passed.
Is it really violent?
Like...The Platform....I just couldn't deal with the grotesqueness and violence. Hunger games
If it is more like Hunger Games, I could probably get thru it.
Posted by _elle_It's very violent. Some might disagree but it reminded me of hunger games meets the purge.

And jigsaw..
But what I like about this game, it is voluntary, unlike hunger games where the children are forced to play... at least they signed up for this game on their own free will and were given a choice to continue or quit in the beginning..click to expand

Lol, they could have explained the rules better b4 Red light green light 🤣
But they did say they could leave if the majority agreed....its funny that they went back in tho after they were out..like wtf 🤣
Agree.. i'd opt to walk out even before red light green light.. i mean you were gassed in a car then transported to God knows where.. that's literally getting kidnapped, wtf?? 🤣🤣🤣

I tried watching it but couldn't get past the bad syncing of the dubbed English. I guess I could just watch it cc. I might try again.

I had to try 3 times to get past the first 20-25 minutes. Kept getting distracted and thought it can't that good if it can't hold my attention for 5 minutes. Once it picks up though, if you can ignore the poor dubbing, it's much more entertaining.click to expand

The most unrealistic part of the movie, tbh.
But seriously, I lol’d when it was revealed that he was a Scorp.
I agree that the ending was just ok. Wish he’d just gotten on the plane.
A similar dystopian survival show that I actually enjoyed a lot more is “Alice in Borderland”.click to expand

I will try it again when I'm not busy. I did enjoy the violence. It was surprising, clever and dramatic.

Huh? No idea! I was talking about how I motivate myself irl to finish a task early....that a bomb is ticking and will blow off after the minimum amount of time allocated for that task....

Haha, curious why did you find it funny he was a Scorp? Actually, it was because he didn't get on the plane that I convinced me he wasn't a Scorp lol. The red hair didn't help either...The writers just threw that specific birthdate out there because it sounded cool. They had 30 other days in the season to choose from, yet they chose that which tells me it was intentional.
I'll check out "Alice..."click to expand
Posted by rabidtalkerI agree. It's nice to have something high quality that's being hyped.

Posted by TruemaraAgreed. The good Scorpios out there would do their utter best, literally break their bones and sacrifice themselves to help people, especially people they care about in dangerous situations. The good Scorpios I know are very kind hearted and compassionate. I used to think that all Scorpios were bad news considering both my parents are Scorpios and my mother is an abusive narcissist and my dad abandoned me and was a pathological liar. But it was only until I met really kind hearted and the nice Scorpios that my perspective and opinion of them changed. It just goes to show, every single astrology sign has it's good and bad apples.Posted by PhoenixRisingPosted by FleshpotPosted by PhoenixRising

I haven't watched it, but heard that kids at a primary school in Belgium are duplicating a certain game that's common to play at playground and it became very violent after they watched the show.
Same situations in UK and France. This hype is bad...
